MORE ABOUT RACHEL AND FODMAP+
Hi, I'm Rachel - a wife, mom, and Registered Dietitian with Ph.D. in Nutrition - and fellow IBS sufferer. I have the great pleasure (HA!) of having both Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and IBS.
I discovered the low FODMAP diet in a course titled Nutrition and Disease. I quickly realized a number of the foods high in FODMAPs were foods I already avoided. Through trial and error I found that I felt better if I just avoided certain foods or types of foods…Italian food always made me feel like a soccer ball was inflating in my stomach!
So, I began a journey – both for myself and my doctoral research – into learning about the FODMAP diet and gut health. All the information on FODMAPplus.com will be based on research and laced with my personal and professional experience. My goal is to help you heal your gut – and that probably won't happen through diet alone. Wellness is a lifestyle.
The main force behind FODMAP+ is a deep desire to help YOU feel better through a diet - and lifestyle - based approach.
My research focus the last few years has been on improving gut health. I have also learned a lot through trial and error, as a patient suffering from both Irritable Bowel Disease (IBS) and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). My approach combines both my personal and professional/academic experience to help lead you down a path to better gut health.
